AS THE BIRDS TRILL FROM THE CANOPY ABOVE two twins are born beneath the thicket deep within the east shroud, far from civilization. of these twins is x'linya, a wolf among a family of sheep. her parents care little for her success, only that she provide for the family as they descend into the throes of heretical madness.
the first of many wrongs that this world would toss at the girl.

x'linya is a mercenary with no company. she's drifted in and out of the hands of people who have done nothing but strengthen her aggressive nature. she's a tool through and through, if she can be leashed. she can track better than her peers, she can clear a room if she's set loose. she would do this now for the right price; the only problem is that she has a tendency to go a little... wild without a guiding hand.
nose stronger than ever, she has aetherscent. in the assistance of her tracking abilities, x'linya was born with a particular sensitivity to aether through her nose. she can memorize people's specific aether signatures on a dime and it can help lead her when she's blind. much to her chagrin, however, she becomes easily overwhelmed in densely populated locations, or places with strong smells, or even if she's overexposed to copious amounts of aether at once.

a child of the shroud, wandering. x'linya was born deep in the shroud to parents who were bordering on cultists. they were fatally aggressive to outsiders, leaving her wary and slow to trust. she often speaks of her family, though the language she uses is conflicting in nature. the only way to find out more about them is to gain her trust enough for her to bring you to her former home.
SHE hovers upon her like a ghost clinging to her back. x'linya is not always suffering delusions, but when she does it can become apparent at a glance. the way she moves changes, or the fur of her tail stands on end. she can be seen speaking to a soul that no one can see. it guides her every movement, everyday. it torments her. these behaviours can be lessened by drink or drugs, which is not a difficult coax to draw her into.
